Height has been an issue nowadays. Well, there are people who are tall who would like to decrease in height, and there are bunch of desperate small people who would like to increase in height. The disappointment of small people continues the moment they will apply for a job and a height limit is required. Aside from that, there are frustrated beauty queens who would like to join beauty pageants but it seems like all of their hopes are gone the moment their height is measured.

Admit it or not, but nowadays, the society is not fair when it comes to height. Look at your family tree. Maybe your grandmother or grandfather is short that is why you are short, too.

Non-genetic factors are caused by the environment. Height is associated with growth. So, science says that if your growth is interfered, your height is also affected. And there are non-genetic factors that are common in our environment nowadays such as exposure to tobacco, birth weight, illness during childhood and pregnancy, etc.

Are you satisfied with your height? Well, I am not saying that it is bad to be short. I have friends who are so successful and good at carrying themselves despite the fact that they are short. But since you have landed on this article, you are probably looking forward to increasing even just a bit on your height naturally. And let me just give you some important things to consider. And I do hope that after trying some of these natural ways, you will be able to increase your height so that you will be satisfied.

Sleep well. When I was still a kid, my mother used to tell me to get enough sleep. Well, those were the days when I was not mindful about this one. All I wanted was playing and doing some stuffs that I liked the most.

Sleeping has an effect on your height. In fact, it is suggested for every teen who is growing to have at least 8 hours of good sleep. During rest, the body regenerates tissues and the body grows as well. So just try to imagine if you are not getting enough sleep. You are not giving your enough time for your tissue to regenerate that is essential for your growth. Aside from that, our brains release human growth hormones during our deep sleep.

There are nutrients that you need in order to enhance your growth such as Vitamin D, Calcium, Zinc, etc. By having these nutrients in your body, your growth will be enhanced.

There are people who have eating problems. And if you are one of them, it is important to develop a good eating habit. Have a good eating schedule. If you also think that eating alone is not effective to you, have a companion. Sometimes it is good to eat with a companion while talking about good and positive things. Your diet is important to your growth.

Do exercise. For children who are engaged in sports and exercises, there is a tendency for them to become taller. Science explains that a body that is physically active will normally demand more nutrients. And if the amount of nutrients, especially those that are essential to growth increase, growth is promoted. Aside from these, growth hormones are stimulated also by sports and exercises. Exercise while you are still young. Do not just stay inside the house watching television and doing stuffs in your computer. Aside from the benefits of getting taller, exercises and sports can make you physically fit and free from different illnesses.

Practice good posture. There are tall people who do not look like they are because of their posture. Remember that bad posture is not good to look at. This can be a result of sitting too much or spending too much time in front of the computer up to the point that their spinal cord has bent.

Strengthen immune system. A growing body is slowed down by diseases. So, imagine if you have diseases when you were still young. If you do, there is a tendency that your growth has been affected. This is the function of the immune system. It strengthens the body to fight diseases. If you have a strong immune system, you will not be able to catch diseases easily.  To strengthen your immune system, it is important to eat foods can boost it. Water therapy. Water has so many health benefits and this is one. Aside from this, it has the capacity to improve metabolism that is directly connected to your growth. Right now, if you are not a water drinker, drink plenty of it so that you will have the chance to increase in height.

Avoid drugs and alcohol. Yes, and these two factors have been a culprit to different kinds of health problems including growth. They interfere in normal growth. It is better to have a healthy body and let it grow naturally.

Use food supplements. Food supplements that are intended for growth are good to use provided you have to be sure of what you are taking. I understand your desire to increase in height, but you have to be careful not to make hasty decisions. You may put yourself on trouble with this.

Seek medical help. Technology nowadays plays an important role in the field of medicine. And it is a good idea for you to seek medical help if you really want to increase in height. Your growth can be treated. In some cases, people go as far as surgery such as leg lengthening in order to increase in height.

I suggest, be careful in making decisions about surgery. Aside from being expensive, there are tendencies for unsuccessful surgeries. It is important always to have precautions in making decisions about your strategy in increasing in height.
